Boney said in an interview about Sridevi's death, 'The madness of keeping herself slim filled her head. She always wanted to look good and keep herself in shape. And so he often starved himself. Used to diet many times. Didn't even eat salt. Ever since I got married, I noticed that he has blackout problems. The doctor said that he has low blood pressure problem. And so the doctor advised him to eat salt. The doctor said to sprinkle salt on the salad. But he would not listen to anyone.'
In his words, 'It was not a natural death, it was an accidental death. I decided not to say anything about it. Because the investigation was going on at that time. And I was interrogated. The police informed that they were being pressured by the Indian media. They found out on investigation that there was no conspiracy involved. I went through various processes then. That included lie detector tests, and more. The report clarified that it was an accidental death.'
Sridevi passed away on this day
Boney Kapoor revealed another new information. He said in an interview, 'His co-star Nagarjuna came during Sri's funeral. Then he shared an incident with me. Nagarjuna said that Sri was on a diet while doing a film with him. And then Nagarjuna informed me that Sri had fallen in the bathroom and had broken his teeth. Perhaps this was written in his destiny. He never took it seriously. And never did he think that the consequences could be so terrible.'
Boney said that even he tried to save Sridevi from this madness. He said in this context, 'I tried to convince him many times. But to no avail. Doctors told him to eat salt in his food. But he didn't listen. He used to order dinner without salt and sugar. He thought eating salt would give him a “double chin”.
In 2017, Sridevi starrer 'Mom' was released. His performance was highly appreciated. The legendary actress won the National Award for this film. And this was the 300th film of his career. Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963 in Tamil Nadu, India. His mother is Rajeshwari Younger and father is Ayyappan Younger.
Sridevi's father was a lawyer by profession. Sridevi's real name is Sri Amma Younger Ayyappan. He appeared in front of the camera as a child artist in 1969. His first film was the devotional Tamil film Tunaivan. Shola Sawan is Sridevi's first film as a heroine in Bollywood. The film was released in 1979. Sridevi married filmmaker Boney Kapoor in 1996.
